At The Electrical Alliance and Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC), we believe there’s more than one path to success. We know firsthand that the traditional classroom experience isn’t for everyone—not to mention the thousands of dollars in student loans that can come along with it.
And despite all those student loans that a college degree requires these days, there’s no guarantee of a job at the finish line. We believe that a great job upon graduation should be obtainable. Not only that, we believe one should be paid for the hard work along the way.
We used our aptitude for science and math to take a different path, and now we’re living life hands-on, working on some of the most fascinating and complex electrical projects around Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland.
JATC apprentices enter this well-paying, in-demand field as paid apprentices, who’ve acquired their training completely tuition-free and earned while they learned, so we were able to hit the ground running with job placement and no student loan debt to repay.
Following graduation, JATC apprentices are employed by Electrical Alliance contractors as skilled union electricians, receiving competitive pay and benefits, and continuing education not available to non-union electricians.
