A typical year it surely was not. But, that did not keep the JATC from graduating 181 apprentices this June. Despite the obstacles of final in-classroom education transitioning to online these electrical apprentices continued to shine and successfully completed their final coursework and on-the-job trainings.
The three apprenticeship tracks and graduates include:
- Inside Wireman Apprentices – 146 graduates
- Telecom Apprentices – 5 graduates
- Residential Upgrade Apprentices – 30 graduates
Graduate, salutatorian John Watterson entered the JATC with a 3 Journeyman license. After completing the upgrade program, he graduated as an AJ (journeyman wireman). Watterson noted that “The upgrade program was fantastic and totally worth the time. I learned a great deal and it also helped me hone my current skill set and become a better electrician.” He is currently working for Varco Mac Electrical and loves it. He was placed with that Electrical Alliance contractor in his third year in the program and says it’s been “an awesome choice!”
Congratulations to all the graduates! We appreciate you and commend you on your dedication to the trade, your education and the exemplary work and skilled craft you bring to your work and our industry.
