Electrical Career Readiness Program

Electrical Career Readiness Program (ECRP) is a paid training experience that prepares young adults for a career in the electrical industry through hands-on work and classroom instruction.

Electrical Alliance

Promoting a Diverse Workforce

The Electrical Career Readiness Program (ECRP) is a workforce training initiative supported through Maryland’s EARN Grant program. The program helps young adults explore a future in the electrical industry while gaining real experience in the field.

Participants work full-time with Electrical Alliance contractors while attending weekly evening classes that introduce the fundamentals of the trade, including tool identification, electrical theory, and workplace readiness. It’s an opportunity to earn while you learn, build valuable skills, and discover what a career in the electrical industry can offer.

The program is led by Program Director Christa Tichy, who works closely with industry partners and mentors to support participants throughout their training.

By combining hands-on experience, mentorship, and career preparation, ECRP helps participants take the first step toward apprenticeship opportunities and long-term careers in the skilled trades. These careers provide stability, strong wages, and benefits for years to come.

Get in the habit of checking your cords for fraying, exposed wires, or damaged plugs before you use them. It takes seconds and it matters.

Never use a cord that looks damaged. Swap it out.
