Electrical Alliance Contractors Involved in 13 Award-Winning Projects

NECA electrical contractors contributed to projects in nine categories of the 2010 Mid-Atlantic Construction Magazine Awards

Electrical Alliance contractors worked on a dozen of the winning projects in Mid-Atlantic Construction Magazine Best of 2010 Awards.  This annual competition recognizes construction and design excellence in the region that includes Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Approximately 100 projects completed in the mid-Atlantic region between September 1, 2009 and September 1, 2010, were judged in more than 20 different categories, based on construction type.  Entries were evaluated by an independent jury of industry experts and this years winners were decided in September, 2010.

“Project of the Year” awards were given to the first-place entries and “Awards of Merit” were presented to projects that the judges deemed to be worthy of recognition.

Electrical Alliance contractors worked on the following winning projects:

Overall:

  • Project of the Year, Truland Systems Corporation, Arena Stage Renovation and Expansion, Washington, DC

Civil/Public Works:

  • Project of the Year, Singleton Electric, Arlington County Water Pollution Control Plant Upgrade and Expansion Project, Phase 7A, Arlington, VA
    Cultural:
  • Project of the Year, Truland Systems Corporation, Arena Stage Renovation and Expansion, Washington, DC
  • Award of Merit, J.E. Richards, Watha T. Daniel/Shaw Library, Washington, DC

Government/Public Building:

  • Award of Merit, Truland Systems Corporation, New Federal Building, Washington, DC

Health Care:

Interior Design/Tenant Improvement:

  • Project of the Year, Freestate Electric Construction, American Pharmacists Association Headquarters Tenant Improvement, Washington DC

K-12 Education:

  • Award of Merit, Young Electric, Reed School/Westover Library Renovation and New

Multi-family Residential/Hospitality:

  • Project of the Year, J.E. Richards, The Mason Inn Conference Center and Hotel, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA

Renovation/Restoration:

  • Project of the Year, J.E. Richards, Constitution Center, Washington, DC
