Despite the struggles and the unconventional times of 2020, this year still brought about wins and reason for celebration, congratulation and appreciation.
In November, NECA’s D.C. Chapter shared their appreciation for Pete Courtemanche, of Freestate Electric, by honoring him with the Lifetime Safety Award. And in June, despite obstacles to final in-classroom education – due to COVID-19 – apprentices successfully completed their final coursework and on-the-job training. The JATC celebrated the graduation of 181 apprentices from its program.
Electrical Alliance electricians and contractors are known in the industry for their craftsmanship. Thus, it’s no surprise that earlier this year Electrical Alliance contractors that swept the WBC Craftsman Awards, including J.E. Richards’ work on The Kennedy Center’s The Reach and Singleton’s work on the Corbalis Treatment Plant. Congratulations to all Electrical Alliance contractors for their award-winning work, dedication to craftsmanship and for upholding the highest standards in safety.
As they do each year, the IBEW Local 26, the JATC and RENEW wrapped up the end of the previous year by raising funds and collecting food and gently used coats to support their local communities. And thanks to COVID-19, they came together again in April to partner with regional distillers in order to provide contractors hand sanitizer to provide at manned job sites – helping both their own and giving back to local, once more. The organizations will be making a financial contribution this year, rather than hosting a food and coat drive for the holidays.
