At the Electrical Alliance, we believe community and connection are the foundation of progress. That’s why we were so proud to see the success of the Union Building Trades Job Fair this past May. We’re even more excited to invite you to our next electricians-only job fair in Fredericksburg on August 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1060 Hospitality Ln., Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
Events like these allow us to put faces to the name “Local 26,” have real conversations, and show prospective members what a career in the electrical industry can offer: financial security, career growth opportunities, and a sense of belonging.
A Strong Showing at the Dulles Job Fair
With more than 300 people in attendance and 30 applications processed on-site, May’s job fair was popular. Local 26 staff, NECA representatives, and JATC educators all came together with some of our valued signatory contractors to show what collaboration in action looks like.
We were joined by Perlectric, Archkey/Mona, JE Richards, Dynalectric, Rosendin Electric, Milliamp, Capital Area Testing, Potomac Testing, and Power Solutions. Together, we offered attendees a clear view of the real-world opportunities waiting for them if they become apprentices. From high school graduates to seasoned professionals exploring a career change, every attendee brought a unique story. We were there to show them how they could forge a new one with us.
For the first time, our team also accepted applications for office positions with contractors, a reflection of our belief that every role contributes to a stronger workforce and a healthier industry. That kind of inclusive growth is what helps us all rise.
Looking Ahead: August 9 in Fredericksburg
May’s event reminded us why job fairs matter, and our upcoming event in Fredericksburg on August 9 is proof that there are even more opportunities for workers.
This electricians-only job fair is designed to meet the growing demand for skilled labor in one of our region’s most active development areas: data centers. Whether you’re new to the field or a seasoned electrician looking for new opportunities, this event will help connect you with lasting work that helps build communities from the inside out.
We’re calling on members of Local 26 to help spread the word. When you share your story, you spark someone else’s.
Each job fair is a touchpoint with our communities, giving us a chance to uplift new workers, support local contractors, and strengthen our union collective. Because when we grow together, we all benefit.
